Walnut Figured BM #86 Lumber Slabs - $100 (OREGON)

A book matched set of boards is cut out of the center of the tree, then split down the middle to open up like a book – creating a unique set of boards which present a mirror image of each other.

Black Walnut, American Walnut or Eastern Black Walnut

American Walnut is one of the scarcest and most coveted native North American hardwoods, in a class by itself. Walnut comprises only about 1% of the hardwood grown in the US. Many large walnut logs are shipped to Europe where the demand is high.

The sapwood of walnut is nearly white to cream, while the heartwood is light brown to dark, chocolate brown, often with a purplish cast and darker streaks.

The wood is heavy, hard and stiff and with a high shock resistance. It is generally coarse textured and produces distinctive grain patterns. Walnut is the classic go-to lumber for dining room tables, bedroom furniture, bookcases, desks, tables, cabinets, shotguns and rifles, and interior finishes.

Additionally these pieces are figured walnut, meaning it has a mix of swirls and knots in it.

If you want to fill the middle with epoxy the table top as shown would be about 1” x 20” x 78”. Thickness is 4/4 (1”).

This set of bookmatched slabs is $100.
