Cedar is one of the most beautiful types of lumber I cut. The whole time you’re working it you’ll either be reminded of your grandmother’s cedar chest, or the hamster cage you had when you were a kid.
Juniperus virginiana - red cedar, eastern redcedar, Virginian juniper, eastern juniper, red juniper, pencil cedar, and aromatic cedar.
This tree is native to eastern North America from southeastern Canada to the Gulf of Mexico and east of the Great Plains.
This is a book matched set – creating a unique set of boards which present a mirror image of each other. A book matched set of boards is cut out of the center of the tree, then split down the middle to open up like a book.
These are cut at 6/4 (1.5” thick). Both boards have a natural live edge on both sides. Fill the middle with your favorite colored epoxy. There is some termite damage / holes that would look great filled with epoxy.
The set of bookmatched slabs is $200.
